I have been a qualified Coach in some capacity since the age of 17 and have previously gained several coaching qualifications across a number of Sports including Netball, Football, Gymnastics, Swimming and Multisports. I am also a C Award Netball Umpire.
In my college years, I gained a BTEC in Sports, Leisure and Recreation followed by a Sports Science degree from Bangor University in 2008. I was then fortunate enough to spend the summer of 2008 coaching 'Soccer' in the USA. I then ventured away from coaching towards a career in Physiotherapy. I went on to complete a Masters in Physiotherapy in 2010, and an additional Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2017. As a Sports Physiotherapist, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of settings including elite sport, Universities such as Bath, Nottingham and the University of West England, and also private practice.
I have been involved in Sport all of my life in various capacities, as participant, Coach and Physiotherapist. I understand first hand the profound impact being involved in Sport has on a person, especially children. It not only positively impacts our health and mental wellbeing, it also helps us to develop a number of valuable life skills and in many cases, it gifts us friends for life.
It is for this reason that I am deeply passionate about creating opportunities for both adults and children to discover and experience Sport locally so that they may also develop a life long love for it.
